The wind farm is scheduled to becom operational before the end of this year and is expected power at least 19,000 homes Ohio.
RES completed the project development part and transferred the ownership of wind project to EDPR this year. The wind farm will include 30 of Vestas V110 2.2MW turbines, totalling the capacity to 66MW.
For the project, a 20-year power purchase agreement (PPA) was signed by Southern Maryland Electric Cooperative (SMECO). The PPA was facilitated by the National Renewables Cooperative Organization (NRCO).
During the peak of the construction, the wind project is expected to create about 235 jobs and up to seven permanent jobs, once operational.

The Hog Creek Wind Project will add to EDPR’s portfolio of 260MW in Ohio, while contributing significantly to the regional economy. The wind project is expected to contribute about $594,000 per year in terms of property taxes and more than $10m to local landowners throughout the life of the project.
