The addition of Jabbar increases RFMD’s board of directors to nine members, of which eight are independent directors.

Before heading Sun Microsystems’ sales organization, he was the president of Sun Microsystems’ computer company and earlier served in numerous other capacities within the Sun Microsystems organization and its subsidiaries, incorporating chief financial officer, general manager, and vice president of finance and planning.

Jabbar is presently a private investor in start-up companies and sits on the boards of directors of many companies, incorporaing Silicon Image Inc., JDS Uniphase Corporation and MSC Software Corporation. He is also chairman of the board of Picsel Technologies Inc. He holds a master’s degree in international management from American Graduate School of International Management, a master’s degree in business administration from the Texas A&M University and a bachelor’s degree in Economics and Statistics from University of Panjab, Pakistan.
