The company has started drilling the first exploration well WZ6-12N-1 located about 30m of water and is planning to spud it for a total depth of about 1,600m.
Roc Oil, the operator of the Block 22/12 has undertaken the drilling program to test the limits of WZ6-12 oil field and for the number of additional prospects around the field.
The company will drill up to four exploration wells using the HYSY 931 rig during the drilling program which is scheduled to be completed in the third quarter of 2013.
Upon the completion of the drilling program, the HYSY 931 rig will be employed for multi-well development drilling program which is subject to the approval from the National Development and Reform Commission.
