MoldInterGaz specializes in the import and wholesale and retail distribution of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) in the Republic of Moldova.
Its assets include retail distribution stations of autogas, predominantly in the northern areas of Moldova, sale points for gas cylinders and a filing station. Additionally it owns storage facilities in Ungheni and Tirnova, both in Moldova, for imports.
Toma Veron, general manager of Rompetrol Gas, said: Rompetrol Gas is targetting LPG development in Moldova and hopes to attain a market share of approximately 20%. MoldInterGaz, at the end of 2007, had a market share of 5% in the distribution segment and 10% in LPG imports. By this takeover, Rompetrol Gas enters a growing market of approximately 55,000 tones annually.
