Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak was quoted by Reuters as saying the Russian regulator intends to be involved in the establishment of other nuclear power plants in Turkey.
"We have expressed our desire to be involved in negotiations on this," Novak said during a visit to Istanbul.
In 2010, the Russian government endorsed intergovernmental Russia-Turkey agreement to build and operate a nuclear power plant at the Akkuyu site in Mersin province, Turkey.
The proposed nuclear project includes construction of four VVER units, 1200MWe each. The cost of the nuclear power plant is expected to reach $20bn.
Rosatom incorporates over 250 enterprises and scientific institutions, including all civil nuclear firms of Russia, nuclear weapons complex’s facilities and research organizations.
