The refinery will undergo a modernization and technological upgrade as part of the planned overhaul of the facility.

The company said it intends to increase the production efficiency of the ELOU-AVT-6 primary refining unit to 7 million tonnes per year to ensure an increase in the extraction of vacuum gas oil.

Saratov Refinery has made a reserve stock of petroleum products and reached agreements on additional deliveries from other Rosneft refineries.

The overhaul, which is claimed to be the largest in scale ever since the company foundation, will run through to the middle of November 2013.

Established in 1934, Saratov Refinery enterprise produces engine fuels, fuel oil, bitumen, vacuum gas oil and technical sulfur.

The company processed 6.9 million tonnes of oil in 2012 and commissioned a pentane-hexane isomerization complex in 2013.
