The Blink level 2 home and commercial chargers has interactive, networked touch screen that will allow EV drivers to choose a convenient time to charge their vehicles. Further, the device can be programmed to charge the car when rates are low, saving consumers time and money.

Roush, which worked on creating the tooling to build the prototypes and the first of the Blink chargers, will continue to partner with Ecotality as the company progresses from prototypes to full-on manufacturing stage.

Doug Smith, chief operating officer of Roush, said: “We are proud to have had the opportunity to partner with Ecotality in bringing the Blink chargers to market. Ecotality had a very clear vision for the project and an acute understanding of the public’s needs, which allowed us to effectively leverage our design and engineering expertise.

“The end result is a truly innovative, outstanding product that will provide drivers an easy and efficient way to recharge their EVs.”
