The news source reported that a new legal investigation has been initiated against Total, based on the filing of complaints by the Russian regions of Volgograd and Saratov in 2006.

The two regions are seeking compensation from Total, as a consequence of them not receiving enough profits from a revenue sharing agreement with Elf Aquitaine, beginning in 1990, according to the newspaper.

The news source noted a lawyer for Total as saying that there were no grounds for dispute between the Russian regions and the company.
