DEWA

Under the terms of the MoU, RWE and DEWA will exchange expertise and research in renewable energy, and technical, economic, and environmental analysis of alternative energy scenarios.

The companies will work together to improve research and development in energy and smart grids, scientific research and sustainable development projects.

The team will also work on testing of smart grid measures, energy storing and efficiency, improved reliability of solar cells, and value-added products and services for smart grids and cooperation in academic and scientific programs.

The MoU is in line with DEWA’s effort to contribute to the Smart Dubai initiative, launched by UAE Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum to make Dubai the smartest city by advancing the implementation of smart initiatives.

DEWA CEO Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer said: "DEWA is committed to enhancing cooperation with local and international government and private organizations to improve its services for customers, and develop its operations to the highest levels of availability, reliability, and efficiency."

RWE Consulting CEO Dr Klaus Grellmann said: "We look forward to working with DEWA in solar and other alternative and renewable sources of energy.

"We intend to set an innovative role model in the region for the sustainable development and ease of connecting renewable energy sources with existing electricity grids.

"We are confident that DEWA’s excellent initiatives combined with RWE’s latest innovations and technologies will achieve this ambitious goal."
