Goole wind farm

Located on a section of land south of the A161, south east of the town of Goole, the 32.8MW wind farm will generate enough energy for about 18,200 average households in the UK per year.

The wind farm will feature 16 Senvion 2.05MW turbines, each standing at 124.8m high from the base to the tip of the turbine blades.

RWE Innogy secured approval from East Riding of Yorkshire Council in September 2010 to construct the wind farm.

RWE Innogy UK project manager for Goole Fields Wind Farm Tim Daldry said: "Goole Fields Wind Farm is testimony to everybody involved, and will create a cleaner energy legacy for the area by generating home grown electricity from the wind for thousands of homes."

The company has also unveiled additional information on the Goole Fields Wind Farm Community Fund, which is scheduled to go live this autumn.

RWE said the first awards will be made in January 2015 and the fund will benefit the electoral wards of Snaith, Airmyn & Rawcliffe, Marshlands and Goole South in East Riding of Yorkshire.

RWE Innogy operates onshore and offshore wind farms through its UK subsidiary RWE Innogy UK, with an installed capacity of more than 740MW.
