The Amriya-1x is the first exploration well drilled by RWE Dea in this concession and was drilled to a total depth of 1,697m. Presence of gas has been confirmed in the intervals 1,471m to 1,479m and 1,585m to 1,597m, respectively.
The well was defined on the newly acquired 3D seismic. The North El Amriya concession was awarded to RWE Dea in July 2006. It covers an area of 2,066sqkm within the onshore and offshore Nile Delta region of Egypt.
