Opponents of the scheme have also commissioned a noise assessment and the Environment Agency has asked for further clarification on the potential impact on private water supplies.
The postponement will allow the other issues to be fully assessed, said the council. The assessment is expected to take up to three weeks.
Planning committee chairman Coun Jasmine Chesters said: It is vital that the council and other relevant groups have been given all the correct information.
