The utility’s 24.6% holding in the power station is likely to fetch as much as $110m. The plant is said to be a generator of a third of the electricity used in the German state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.

The Rostock plant is also co-owned by German utility EnBW Energie Baden-Wuerttemberg (EnBW) and Swedish utility Vattenfall. Last year, EnBW acquired 50.4% stake in the power station from E.ON. Vattenfall holds 25% stake in the plant.

According to the head of Vattenfall’s German unit, Vattenfall may sell its stake in the power plant, Bloomberg reported.
