The facility’s capacity will be increased from 26 billion cubic meters (bcm) per year to 40bcm after the second phase is commissioned, reportedly making it the largest liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal in the US.

Total said that, by opening LNG terminals in Hazira, India in 2005 and Altamira, Mexico in 2006, and ahead of the commissioning of the terminals in South Hook in the UK and Fos Cavaou in France, it is pursuing its strategy by developing access for LNG production in the world’s leading gas markets.
