“We’re going to adopt Berkeley’s program … but take it to a whole ’nother level,” San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom said.

Newsom also talked about a program that will allow San Franciscans to view their contribution to greenhouse gas emissions in real time no matter where they go in the city. The program is called eco-map and it’s being developed by Cisco Systems Inc. Eco-map will revolutionize the approach to lowering greenhouse gas emissions in the city by easily making people aware of their contributions to global warming on a daily, calculable basis.

Newsom said that the company developing eco-map had asked him not to release more details on the eco-map until it was formerly launched.
