Under the project, local farmers in the central plains region of the US will grow low-impact, non-food based Pennycress and Camelina crops for oil production.
The produced oil from the crops will be delivered to Ever Cat Fuels commercial biodiesel production facility, that has a capacity of three million gallon per year, in Isanti, Minnesota.
At this facility the Pennycress and Camelina oils will be converted into biodiesel which meets all ASTM D6751 grade specifications.
