The Southampton-based company is currently collaborating with consultants, contractors and investors to deliver combined heat and power (CHP) plants, district heating, electrical production and process steam for manufacturing, using biomass combustion. These plants are capable of converting 6,000 to 80,000 tonnes of waste wood per annum into renewable energy and heat, a fuel source that would otherwise be sent to landfill or exported.

Saxlund has partnered with Axis Industries, Lithuania’s largest engineering company, to bring Axis’ EPC contract management processes and pioneering automatic and electro-engineering equipment to its biomass projects. The move represents a new European mega engineering capability with around 1,000 employees and a combined turnover of around €100 million.

In addition to waste wood biomass plants, the company will be presenting its full range of solutions for combustion, waste from energy and bulk materials handling and storage, referencing dozens of sites across Europe.
