The State Corporation Commission has informed that its has reduced by $97.3m the revenue increase for fuel expenses contained in an application by Appalachian Power. It approved an increase of $129.5m to recover fuel costs from July through August 2010.

The residential customer who uses 1,000 kilowatt hours a month would pay in excess of approximately $7.16, stated the SCC. Under the proposal by the company, the bill have been 13% or approximately $12.21 a month higher.

Todd Burns, spokesman of Appalachian informed that the company had requested the SCC to approve approximately $165m of the complete amount it would recover in fuel costs.

The company has three other rate increase requests under pending status.
