The Code of Conduct (CoC) is promoted by Joint Research Group of the European Commission, which encourages all European companies aiming to reduce data centers energy consumption to commit to it.

Schneider Electric said that it uses its EcoStruxure system architecture, an approach that unites its capabilities in power, data centers, process and machines, building control, and physical security, while optimizing energy efficiency to help its customers comply with the CoC.

The company claims that leveraging its offerings to make energy efficient and green, EcoStruxure is the ideal tool to adjust any business process real time, in close coordination with energy inputs.

Schneider Electric takes part to many other initiatives worldwide, including the Green Grid, the Alliance to Save Energy, the Clinton Climate Initiative and the UN Global Compact.

Laurent Vernerey, executive vice president of IT business at Schneider Electric, said: ”As an endorser of the EU Code of Conduct on Data Centres, Schneider Electric reaffirms its commitment to energy efficiency and sustainability.

”The group intends to spread information on the CoC, to encourage companies to become CoC participants and to aid CoC participants in putting into practice the recommendations of Participant Guidelines and Best Practices.”
