Fujipream uses the solar cells to assemble modules comprising solar panels and peripherals equipment. Fujipream has been selling those products in Europe. But with the Japanese government moving to subsidize household buying of solar power systems, Schott has decided to market some of that production in Japan. The subsidies and the relative value of the euro to the yen will make Schott’s products price competitive.
SCHOTT Solar plans to sell solar power systems with an energy efficiency of 12.3% to 13.7% at the relatively low cost of JPY60,000 to JPY65,000 ($664.2) per kW.
