The wind farm will employ 25 turbines to generate energy enough to power 40,000 households per annum.
Commenting on the approval Scotland Energy Minister Fergus Ewing remarked that the approval comes with a series of conditions for the protection of natural habitats, local communities and wildlife.
"Once it is up and running it will save thousands of tonnes of carbon dioxide each year, and it is expected that the savings made will ‘pay off’ the carbon footprint of constructing the site in less than two years," added Ewing.
