The services from the duo for the 402MW wind farm have already begun from this month.

Initial term of the contract is for 150 days with preparation of the foundations along with transition pieces for the installation of the towers and turbines as per SeaRenergy.

As part of the contract, the two companies will handle the full project management which includes HSE, QA and technical management.

The companies will also provide complete marine logistics; take care of the cleaning of offshore structures besides monitoring marine growth rate on offstore structures.

Veja Mate has also assigned them the responsibility for technical inspections and reports.

Both SeaRenergy and SMC would have to check, maintain and replace any damaged items on the offshore structures as per the contract.

They will also help with the maintenance of the offshore substation and also handle the transfer of project personnel from the harbour to the worksite.

A joint statement from SMC managing director Ian Coates and SeaRenergy managing director Benjamin Vordemfelde read: “After provision of Client Representation services during foundation installation, provision and installation of the cardinal buoys as well as Marine Coordination during the complete installation, we are pleased that Veja Mate also awarded us with this contract.”

Owned by the owned by Siemens Financial Services, Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners and Highland Group, Veja Mate wind project has a capacity of 402mw and is being built at an investment of €1.9bn.

Veja Mate is slated to be commissioned in 2017 and is expected to generate 1.6TWh of green, renewable electricity annually.
