The 20- year contract, which will take effect on July 6, 2010, is expected to generate around EUR9m in revenue for 2010. Seche Environnement has commissioned its dedicated subsidiary, Senerval, on the project.

The incinerator handles 260,000 tons of household and similar waste generated by the community (28 districts) and surrounding areas. The scope of work for Seche Environnement involves improving the factory’s energy performance.

Seche will also be responsible for the reduction by one quarter of the factory’s incineration capacity and the creation of a methanization facility for the organic fraction of household waste that will produce biogas for cogeneration (production of electricity and heat), to provide heating network for 4,500 households within the community.

Seche Environnement will adapt the facility’s equipment for the optimization of its combustion process and the modernization of its wastewater treatment.

The company estimates that the cost of the upgrading the facility will be approximately EUR 41m and plans to make the investment between 2010 and 2013.

The project, which is expected to lead to the reduction of volumes of waste treated, improvement of energetic output and power production, is in line with the Grenelle de l’Environnement Round Table policy.
