Sempra US Gas & Power vice president of development Joe Rowley told Pacific Business News that there were no plans for new projects this year.

He conveyed the company’s decision, after addressing on a panel at the 2012 Asia Pacific Clean Energy Summit and Expo at the Hawaii Convention Center.

The project plans were initiated last year in response to a posting on the Naval Facilities Engineering Command Pacific Enhanced Use Lease website.

The solar plant, if gone ahead, would have been one of the largest solar farms in the country with plans up for selling electricity to Hawaiian Electric Company (HECO) and offer it free of charge to Navy, the news site reported citing Sempra director of external affairs Scott Crider to have disclosed to it last year.
