Sentrex Wind said that the gen set platform is based on a 3.5 kilowatt (kW) engine and a 2.2 kW generator backed up by solar and small wind, making it suitable for supplying power for light detection and ranging, or for heated instruments on a met tower.

Data logging, control and communications are performed with a Campbell Scientific logger and permit the user to have remote control over engine starts, stops, set points and diagnostics.

As part of the monitoring service, the user will receive a report on current draw of the load, allowing the user to decide if an instrument is failing to draw power. Depending on the requirements, the system can be housed in small, walk-in shipping containers or in more portable shelter boxes.
