Under the agreement, the first order is for supply of 21 wind turbines of 3MW range to four of Prokon’s projects with a total capacity of 69MW.

As per the agreement, delivery and commissioning of the turbines and providing services will also be undertaken by Senvion.

The four wind projects will be constructed using one Senvion 3.2M122, five Senvion 3.0M122, eight Senvion 3.4M114 and seven of Senvion 3.4M140.

Under the project, the 21 wind turbines will have the capacity to generate about 173,000,000 kWh each year, which is sufficient to supply power to least 45,000 German households

Senvion CEO Jürgen Geissinger said: "We are particularly happy about this cooperation. Together with PROKON, we will realize this project that includes four different Senvion turbine types from our 3.XM series, including our recently launched Senvion 3.4M140.

"This proves that we have the right turbine for every site in Germany, and we are very much looking forward to the successful completion of the projects together with PROKON."

Commissioning of the four wind projects is planned between 2016 and 2018.

These wind turbines have been designed to operate in low-wind conditions and provide higher output.

According to the company, the turbines with their new pitch system and sound optimised serrations on the blades, are particularly suited for low-wind conditions, forested and mountainous areas.

PROKON Regenerative Energien CEO Heiko Wuttke said: "For the implementation of our outstanding project pipeline, with Senvion we have found a partner that suits us very well. This refers both to the wind turbine technology and to the cooperation in the operation of wind farms.

"The PROKON cooperative is active with its projects in regions with very different wind potentials, both in the north and in the interior of Germany.

"Therefore, it is important for us that our wind turbines meet all these different challenges. We are very much looking forward to the cooperation. "
