According to PetrolWorld, there are around 900 Shell petrol stations in Malaysia, considering the ProJet outlets acquired from Conoco Jet Malaysia in April 2007. The average investment for a company-owned petrol station will be around MYR8 million, with dealer-built ones costing less, according to Shell Malaysia.

Datuk Mohzani, managing director of Shell Malaysia, as quoted by PetrolWorld, said: The Shell group views Malaysia as one of the countries in this region that it wants to continue to invest in and grow. We would be happy if growth exceeds 6%.
