The report said that Shell had earlier planned to develop major infrastructure to process the South Pars gas into liquefied natural gas (LNG), to be exported by tankers, in a bid to help Iran achieve its goal of becoming a major gas exporter.
Shell is reportedly one of the few companies in the world to have the expertise to develop phase-13 of the South Pars gas field into a full-fledged LNG export project.
