With the partnership, Shunfeng aims to develop about 400MW of PV projects in 2014 and another 500MW in 2015.
Shunfeng’s subsidiary Wuxi Suntech will be responsible for supplying 60-cell multicrystalline silicon PV modules and inverters for the projects, while Greenfield will provide engineering, procurement and construction services.
Shunfeng chair Zhang Yi said, "This partnership highlights Shunfeng’s strategy to become the largest integrated clean energy supplier globally – integrated not only in terms of manufacturing but also in terms of developing and owning clean energy producing assets."
"Based on Suntech’s strong market presence in the solar cell and solar module market in Europe, the cooperation with Greenfield can strengthen the sales channel and secure orders for our solar products and entrench our market position in the global PV market," Yi added.
According to Shunfeng, the average size of the proposed solar projects would be in the 10-40MW range.
