Siemens has added the Simatic powerrate software for its new Version 4.0, and software measures and monitors energy values in production.
The Simatic powerrate software is already suitable for the Simatic WinCC visualization system and the Simatic PCS 7 process control system in its existing version.
The Simatic powerrate is also applicable for Simatic-S7-315 controllers and PC-based solutions using Simatic WinAC RTX 2010.
The software now also performs energy management tasks in smaller-scale applications.
Siemens said the configuration wizard relieves users of the more complex planning work, then reducing the expenditure on this aspect.
In its latest Version 5.2, the B Data management tool can also be used with Windows Server 2008 and Windows 7, the company said.
The B Data management tool enables the production company to optimize its energy costs and transparency at the management level, all the way from purchasing, through planning to financial controlling.
