The two companies handed over the 415MW power plant 12 days ahead of schedule.

Siemens Energy supplied SGT6-8000H gas turbine, SST6-5000 steam turbine, SGen6-2000H hydrogen-cooled generator, Benson heat recovery steam generator, SPPA-T3000 instrumentation and controls system and other equipment of the Dangjin 3 plant (formerly Bugok 3).

The company was also responsible for commissioning the CCPP project, which has an efficiency of around 61%.

Siemens Energy Fossil Power Generation division CEO Roland Fischer said, "Thanks to our advanced H-class technology, our customer saves both fuel costs and the cost of maintenance and repairs."

"So far, eight of the 24 H-class gas turbines we have sold to date have been sold to South Korea," Fischer added.

"This demonstrates the enormous confidence that the South Korean market places in our technology and our expertise for turnkey power plants."
