The extended long-term service contract includes maintenance of 26 SWT-2.3-93 wind turbines operating at Whirlwind Energy Center, and 72 SWT-2.3-93 units at Hackberry Wind Farm.

The company is currently under a five-year service agreement with the project developer.

Siemens Energy Service Renewables CEO Tim Holt stated that it is important for developers to continue procuring high level of availability, efficiency and energy output from their assets, with turbines moving into their post warranty years.

"This is where Siemens’ long-term programs can provide the greatest benefit, by providing cost-effective, innovative service and preventive maintenance for the entire estimated lifespan of these assets," added Holt.

Siemens is also planning for Advanced Grid Performance (AGP) upgrade at both projects that have a combined energy capacity of 226MW.
