Awarded by Sabanci Holding and E.ON joint venture, Enerjisa, the contract covers the turnkey construction of the natural-gas-fired plant, and the supply of an SGT5-8000H gas turbine, a model SST5-5000 steam turbine, and an SGen5-3000W water-cooled generator.

The company will also supply the entire electrical system, a 400kV high-voltage switchgear installation , SPPA-T3000 instrumentation and control system, a Benson-type heat recovery steam generator, as well as the auxiliary and ancillary systems.

"In this project, too, we will live up to our very high claim concerning quality and safety in project engineering and execution and during the construction and installation phase", Hauenschild added.

Siemens also concluded a long-term service contract for the major components, such as the gas turbine and generator.

Upon completion in the spring of 2016, the Bandirma II plant is expected to have an installed capacity of around 600MW and an efficiency of more than 60%.
