Located 120 miles northwest of Wichita, the onshore wind power plant will feature 21 SWT-2.3-108 wind turbines, which are part of Siemens G2 platform of onshore geared products.

Power produced from the project will be sold to customers under power purchase agreements.

The G2 platform comprises highly-engineered, designed and manufactured components, exceptional reliability, intelligence and low operational costs for an optimized return on investment.

Siemens also signed a service and maintenance agreement to help ensure the turbines operate at optimal levels.

NJRCEV is responsible for constructing, owning and operating the wind farm, which is planned to be commissioned in the fall of 2015.

Siemens Wind Power and Renewables Division Onshore CEO Thomas Richterich said: "This order reinforces our commitment to local manufacturing in North America supporting our customers and the entire region.

"This project has a special meaning, as the Alexander wind farm is just up the road from our nacelle assembly plant."

Siemens will manufacture the nacelles for the project at its facility in Hutchinson, Kansas, and the blades at its blade facility in Fort Madison, Iowa, US.
