Three of these new compressed natural gas (CNG) filling stations are located in Wuhan City’s Zoujia Wan area, in the Hubei province. The fourth CNG filling station is located in Pingdingshan City’s Dawulu area, in the province of Henan.
Each of these stations has four filling outlets, and will be open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Sinoenergy has targeted sales for each CNG filling station of around 10,000 cubic meters (cbm) per day. The designed maximum physical capacity of a standard CNG filling station is about 18,000cbm per day.
All of the four new retail filling stations are fully licensed by local governments to operate and sell CNG. The company has opened and is operating a total of 11 retail CNG filling stations in central and eastern China. Sinoenergy believes that at least 20 to 30 such retail filling stations are needed to meet the demand for CNG.
Bo Huang, CEO of Sinoenergy, said: We are very pleased to have four new stations open and operating in Wuhan and Pingdingshan. Opening three new CNG stations in Wuhan is a significant milestone that we achieved after extensive co-ordination and communication with a number of local government agencies.
