The new plant will receive gas from the Jubilee offshore field, which is operated by Tullow Oil, and will have processing capacity of 120 million cubic feet of gas per day.

Sinopec’s scope of work will include construction of a processing plant and a 36km shallow-water offshore pipeline from the production, storage and offloading to the plant.

The work will also include construction of 120km and 75km onshore pipelines to the Aboadze power plant and to the mining town ofPrestea respectively, including a jetty for the export of natural gas liquids.

The project will be funded from the China Development Bank facility, with construction expected to begin in next month.
