The facility will be constructed, owned and operated by BP Wind Energy.

The wind project is slated to have a capacity of 144MW and is expected to achieve commercial operations late next year.

SMECO has contracted to purchase 30MW, about 21% of the facility’s output.

US based utility Old Dominion Electric Cooperative will purchase 75MW, which is about 52% of the capacity of the Mehoopany wind farm.
