Valued at about $29m, the Youngs Creek hydropower facility is located south of Sultan, and has a generating capacity of 7.5MW.

The hydropower plant supplies enough power, on average, for about 2,000 homes, and it provides greater flexibility with its power supply to the District.

Public Utility District Board of Commissioners president Dave Aldrich said the district is intended to operate this facility and other hydropower projects to protect natural environment while serving the community’s needs for high quality water and energy.
