John Gocek, Sofame’s chief executive officer, said As Sofame’s new representatives come on-line, it takes about six months to close the first technical sale. Smaller industrial orders close first, followed by the larger universities, hospitals and power plants.

New Director Appointments:

Richard Groome, Sofame’s chairman stated We are grateful for the tireless efforts of Douglas Robertson and Rami Shehabi in preparing Sofame for success. Robert Presser and Hubert Marleau each bring solid expertise specific to Sofame’s present opportunities.

In 2007 Presser was appointed to the board of directors of Defense Construction Canada and became chairman of the board in June, 2008. Defense Construction Canada offers project management and the administration services for all infrastructure projects needed by Canada’s Department of National Defense. He is an experienced project manager, covering mechanical, electrical and electronic engineering disciplines for Acme’s contracts with international engineering firms like SNC Lavalin and Bechtel, and has presented the papers and seminars on Acme’s process technologies at the technical conferences in Europe and North America.

Marleau has raised funds privately and publicly for hundreds of companies, structured many mergers and acquisitions and also designed and created many financial deals in Canada. He has worked at the executive level of many large investment banks notably, Nesbitt Thomson Inc., Levesque Beaubien Inc. and also his own firm, Marleau, Lemire Inc. Presser and Marleau replace Rami Shehabi and Douglas Robertson. Shehabi will be continuing as consultant to the corporation and will focus his energy on introducing the company’s energy efficient heating and the heat recovery solutions in Middle Eastern and North African markets. Robertson has decided to resign due to his professional commitments and protracted travels in Asia. The company looks forward to working with Robertson in his capacity as a strategic advisor upon his return to Canada.
