Canromex is developing several landfill waste-to-biogas sites in their territory, which includes Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua and Panama.

Robert Langlois, president of Canromex stated, This is a great opportunity for us to introduce in our market a leading technology that has proven to be extremely efficient in reducing the energy consumption in numerous commercial and industrial areas. Sofame’s products align perfectly with our goals and values at Canromex to help companies and governments to optimize their energy sources and to reduce the impact on our environment.

Michel Brisson, president and chief executive officer of Sofame said Sofame is pleased to introduce its industrial energy efficiency solutions to the Mexican market and into Latin America.

Sofame’s direct contact waste heat recovery systems can achieve double digit fuel cost savings in certain thermal plants by recovering waste heat from post-combustion flue gases and recycling it into cooler streams of water or air.

Sofame’s technology is of particular interest because in addition to reducing fuel costs for large industrial consumers of natural gas, it also reduces carbon emissions, and the production of nitrogen oxide (NOX). With over 300 systems installed to date, Sofame has helped cut GHG emissions by 150,000 tons a year. Over the past 20 years, Sofame technology has enabled industry to cut its emissions by 1.8 million tons – the equivalent of taking 300,000 cars off the road for one year.

Canromex is a Mexico-based project developer in the areas of renewable alternative energies.
