The 270-watt-peak, 60-cell power density providing mono-crystalline solar panel combines advanced light-capture and energy-conversion technologies.
According to SolarWorld, it has enhanced its power density from 250-watt-peak to 270-watt-peak within 12 months, with the introduction of the new technology platforms.
The company expects to unveil the 270-watt Sunmodule as well as a 265-watt product at SPI and offer them for purchase in December and October respectively.
SolarWorld Industries America president Gordon Brinser said that the company’s long-term investment in research, development and capital upgrades in Oregon and Europe helped it in developing the 270-watt Sunmodule solar panel.
SolarWorld Americas president Kevin Kilkelly further said that SolarWorld was among the first manufacturers to bring 60-cell solar panels to market at these power densities.
