The 15MW power project is part of PG&E’s 250MW utility owned generation photovoltaic program, a five-year plan for the construction of utility owned solar power plants.

The plant will be housed in an area of 160 acres in the Fresno in central California.

The system will utilize Solon’s Velocity MW cluster concept with fixed tilt mounting and also the company’s SCADA system for remote control and monitoring.

Solon will begin construction of solar power project in April this year with the completion expected by October 2011.

Solon is a provider of solar power plants and manufacturer of crystalline silicon solar modules in the US.
