The new circuit is expected to provide load relief and improved switching capabilities to the city of Duarte.

The upgrades include the installation of 23 underground structures, two miles of underground cable, and several miles of new and reconditioned overhead lines.

SCE local public affairs regional manager for Duarte and Monrovia Elisa Clifford said that installation of this new distribution equipment will help minimize the likelihood of unanticipated outages in Duarte.

The company is also installing automated monitoring equipment to expedite service to customers in the area.

During the next five years, SCE will invest $10bn to strengthen its systemwide distribution grid to ensure its customers continue to receive affordable and reliable power, the company said.
