Croatian government plans to launch a licensing round over its offshore continental shelf in 2014.

The company will use Seabird vessel to acquire 12,000km long offset seismic data in covering both the northern and southern parts of the Croatian Adriatic Sea.

This data will connect with Spectrum’s reprocessed seismic data covering the Italian Adriatic and the resulting data will support in scientific research.

Work is set to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2013, while with processed products will be made available by the end of first quarter 2014.

Spectrum said it has started promoting the survey and expects to close the industry funding soon. The survey attracted high interest from oil companies.

Croatian waters are largely underexplored despite significant gas discoveries in the northern Adriatic and proven oil discoveries in the southern Italian Adriatic.
