Through this acquisition, Scottish and Southern Energy (SSE) will gain 3,500 electricity supply customers in the Republic of Ireland, mainly in the small and medium sized business market. The acquisition also includes business premises in Portlaoise and Dublin, Ireland.
Alistair Phillips-Davies, energy supply director of SSE, said: This acquisition marks the first phase of SSE’s move into the Irish supply market. It provides SSE with its first customers and establishes a sound foundation to pursue our stated objective of becoming a significant player in this market.
