The framework agreement contract has been awarded to Stark by Buying Solutions, an executive agency of the Office of Government Commerce (OGC), the UK.
The framework agreement is expected to enable government departments, local authorities, public bodies, health authorities, nationalised industries and charities throughout the UK to buy a full range of smart metering services directly from Stark.
Public sector organisations are now able to obtain smart metering services from Stark without having to go through a tendering process. The services include provision and installation of smart meters, ongoing meter maintenance, Elexon-accredited half hourly and non half hourly meter reading and data collection services, and online data reporting services.
Organisations can buy the services in different categories such as electricity, gas, water, sub meters, meter networks, other utilities, and ‘one stop shop’ solution for all of the services.
