The supplier will provide equipment, personnel and vessels for subsea inspection, maintenance and repair (IMR) services.

As per the contract, Statoil will get additional capacity and renewal of its fleet of vessels within this service segment.

The duration of the agreement is five years, and there are two one year-options.

The operational start-up is planned from 1 July 2011 and will apply to the Norwegian, UK, Dutch, German, Belgian and French continental shelves.

The company said that the IMR vessels operate primarily on licenses with production from subsea facilities, which on the Norwegian shelf will cover Statoil’s subsea fields from Snohvit in the north to Sleipner in the south.
