In the newly created general manager role, Thomson will oversee the company’s UK operations and international project support.
The company said that the creation of the new post was part of its 2012 growth strategy and will allow its board of directors to focus on international development and improve operational activities.
STATS Group managing director Pete Duguid said Graham Thomson has a wealth of oilfield business experience which adds strength to STATS’ management team at a time when the company is focussed on global growth in the key oil and gas producing regions.
STATS Group has also named Vikas Shangari as business development manager for the Middle East, based in Qatar.
