This 700m dam, built by Societe Hydro Electrique du Midi (SHEM), is part of a voluntary effort by the Suez Group. This project will help Suez meet the 10 commitments made by it as part of the Grenelle environment framework.

Relaunched in 2006 by Electrabel, a Suez subsidiary, the construction of this dam has been accomplished by SHEM with the support of Electrabel teams.

With an installed power of 4MW, this dam will produce 100% renewable energy that will be certified EE-02 in 2008 by the independent organization TUV-SUD. The generated electricity will be marketed under the AlpEnergie brand by the Suez Group.
