Both the firms are currently collaborating on projects totaling around 1.3MW, leveraging the Georgia Power Advanced Solar Initiative (GPASI).

The firms plan to build a 600kW solar power plant on land that was once an underutilised pasture, which belongs to Tom and Pam Coleman in the region.

In addition, a 700 kW power plant will be built for the county development authority in Stephens county, and is expected to be operational in March 2014.

SunEdison North America president Bob Powell said the small to medium scale distributed generation solar is a major growth engine for the company.

"Having a partner like URE that we can trust to consistently deliver a quality customer experience is crucial to our business and we are looking forward to continuing to work together to bring new business to both of our companies," Powell added.
